1. Agreement and operator
These Terms of Use apply to the PrepTalk iPhone app, associated services, and website operated by Lucas Weynars ("PrepTalk", "we", "us"). By using PrepTalk, you agree to these terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
For the iPhone app, Apple's Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies unless a different end-user licence is provided through Apple. These terms address additional PrepTalk service features and do not remove rights you have under Apple's licence or applicable consumer law.
2. Accounts and access
You may use PrepTalk as a guest or create an account using the sign-in methods offered in the app. Keep your account credentials secure, provide accurate information where requested, and do not use another person's account without permission. If you are under the age of majority where you live, use the service with the permission of a parent or guardian.
You may delete your signed-in account in the app from Profile → Delete account. Guest users can remove local recipes and preferences with Delete local data. Deleting an account does not automatically cancel an active subscription managed by Apple.
3. Recipes, uploads, and sharing
You keep any rights you have in recipes, photos, prompts, and other content you provide. You give PrepTalk a limited permission to host, reproduce, process, and display that content as needed to provide the features you request, including syncing your recipes, generating cooking guidance, and displaying a recipe publicly if you choose to make it public. This permission ends when the relevant content is deleted, subject to necessary backups and legal obligations.
Only upload or share material you are allowed to use. Original recipe publishers and third-party websites retain their own rights; importing a recipe into PrepTalk does not transfer those rights to you or to us. If you choose to make a recipe public, anyone with its link may be able to view and further share it. Cloud recipe image URLs can be publicly accessible even without public recipe sharing, so do not upload sensitive images.
Links to outside websites and services are provided for convenience. Their content, access rules, and availability are outside our control. If you connect a third-party service such as ChatGPT, its separate terms also apply to your use of that service.
4. AI and cooking guidance
PrepTalk uses automated systems to extract recipes and provide voice and text cooking assistance. These systems can misread a source, omit ingredients, suggest unsuitable substitutions, or give incorrect quantities, times, temperatures, nutrition or allergy information. Check the original recipe and use your own judgment before following any guidance.
Food safety matters. Check allergens and ingredients yourself, follow food-handling and cooking-temperature guidance appropriate to your location and ingredients, and never rely solely on PrepTalk for medical, allergy, or food-safety decisions. Stop using a recipe or suggestion if it seems unsafe.
The service requires a compatible device, internet connection for online features, and relevant permissions such as microphone access for voice features. We may improve, modify, or discontinue features, subject to applicable law and any rights attached to an active paid subscription.
5. Subscriptions and payment
PrepTalk offers a limited free voice allowance and optional Basic, Pro, and Premium auto-renewing subscriptions. Plans may be offered with monthly or yearly billing. Paid plans provide the voice-cooking allowance described in the app each month, including when the subscription is billed yearly. The plan, price in your local currency, billing period, and any introductory offer are shown in the App Store purchase sheet before you confirm.
Apple handles payment and renewal. Unless you cancel before renewal, an active subscription renews for another billing period and Apple charges the payment method on your Apple account. You can manage or cancel it in iPhone Settings → your name → Subscriptions. Cancelling stops future renewal but normally leaves access until the current paid period ends. You may restore eligible purchases in the app. Refund requests and billing disputes for Apple purchases are handled through Apple, subject to applicable law and Apple's policies.
If a plan or allowance changes, any notice and consent required by applicable law or App Store rules will apply. Subscription access depends on a valid Apple purchase and the associated entitlement being available to your account.
6. Acceptable use and intellectual property
Do not misuse PrepTalk, interfere with its systems, attempt unauthorised access, upload illegal or harmful content, violate someone else's rights, or use automated access in a way that disrupts the service. We may restrict access when reasonably necessary to address misuse, security, or legal obligations.
PrepTalk's app, design, code, branding, and original materials belong to us or our licensors. We give you a personal, non-exclusive right to use the app under these terms and the applicable Apple licence. That does not give you rights to redistribute the app or use PrepTalk branding as your own.
7. Availability and responsibility
We work to keep PrepTalk useful and available, but online services and AI features may be interrupted or make mistakes. To the extent permitted by law, the service is provided without a guarantee that it will always be uninterrupted or error-free. Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts, or modifies rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded, including rights under the Australian Consumer Law where applicable.
To the extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for losses caused by reliance on inaccurate recipe guidance, third-party content, or events outside our reasonable control. This does not limit liability that cannot legally be limited. If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining terms continue to apply.
